Woman, child (3) killed in Boksburg collision

A woman and a three-year-old child died following a head-on collision involving a BMW and Toyota Auris, on Pretoria Road.

The accident happened between ERPM Golf Club and the intersection of Main Reef and Pretoria roads  on Friday, May 22.
EMPD officers and Ekurhuleni Emergency Services officials on the scene told the Advertiser that the accident occurred at around 9pm.
On assessment, EMS officials found that a woman and her two children were travelling in the green BMW, while a couple and their child (3) were in the second vehicle.

Paramedics attended to all patients, unfortunately, the BMW driver succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The two critically injured children from the BMW were rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The couple and the child in the Toyota Auris were transported to The Life Glynnwood Hospital in Benoni, where the child later died.
The couple had sustained minor injuries.
The body of the BMW driver was taken to the Germiston state mortuary.
Authorities did not immediately release the identities of those involved, but relatives of the dead woman arrived at the scene and identified the deceased.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours, to allow investigators to examine the scene.
Debris from the wrecked vehicles were scattered across the scene.
An investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
