Patient airlifted to hospital in critical condition after crash

A patient was airlifted to hospital in critical condition following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Rondebult and Main Reef roads, on Friday evening, May 1.

The Life Glynnwood Hospital paramedic Louis Erasmus said a taxi collided with a bakkie, leaving two people with serious injuries.

One patient in stable condition was taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital while another, in critical condition, was flown to Union Hospital by Netcare 911 Helicopter.

‘The bakkie also crashed through the wall of a nearby property,’ said Erasmus.

Details leading to the collision will be investigated by the police.
