Children have a blast at Easter egg hunt
More than 250 local children, of different ages, got into the Easter spirit, on Saturday, March 28, at Urban Ruins' Easter egg hunt.
Themed as “Easter Diamond Rush”, this was the organisations first hunt and the children had lots of fun looking for 3 000 eggs, which were donated by CBC.
After the hunt, the children went skateboarding and took part in colouring competitions and a trampoline contest.
One of the founders of the centre, Lindsey Flood, thanked all those who sponsored the event, which lit up the children’s faces with fun, while also allowing them to interact with their peers from various social classes and different walks of life.

Located at 2 Maple Street, Plantation, Urban Ruins provides access to outdoor and creative activities completely free of charge.
The creative activities include karate, guitar, drums, arts and crafts lessons and yoga.
The centre also runs a feeding scheme, which benefits 150 needy children, six days a week.
