Tennis legend Hewitt found guilty of rape
Tennis champion Bob Hewitt (73) has today been found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault, in the South Gauteng High Court in Palm Ridge.
Hewitt was charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of minors, in cases that date back as far as the early 1980s.
Two of the victims were under the age of 16 at the time and the third was under 18.
Sentence has yet to be passed.
Judge Bert Bam found the state’s evidence against Hewitt to be overwhelming.
