No bail for H2O organiser accused of murder

The Cape Town Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to David Forbes in the murder case of Toufieq Joseph, according to reports.

The promoter and owner of popular annual H2O Party, Forbes is accused of killing Joseph in the parking lot of the Engen garage in Orange Street, Cape Town, apparently following an altercation, on Saturday afternoon, January 24.

According to the reports, his lawyers made final arguments for his bail application in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court, during Forbes second appearance on Tuesday.

He returned to court on Wednesday, to hear the outcome of his bail application hoping that things will proceed according to his wishes, but they didn’t.

Forbes’s lawyers reportedly said they will launch an urgent appeal with the Cape Town High Court.

It was reported that Forbes, who has a stab wound on his wrist, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Joseph.

He claims that he was threatened and acted in self-defence.
