The man, believed to be a resident in the nearby settlements, had suffered multiple stab wounds to various parts of his body.
His age is estimated at between 30 and 35.
According to Sgt Mashudu Phathela, detectives tried all the usual measures to identify the man and trace his family, without success.
“We request anyone whose relative went missing or who might know the deceased to please come forward,” said Phathela.
