Strong winds blow large wall over

“We were alerted by the Ekurhuleni Disaster Management in the afternoon that the wall had suffered damage due to the strong winds. Luckily no on was hurt and it did not affect trading hours,” says store manager, Thegaraj Pillay.

Pillay explains that the storm, something that looked like a tornado, happened in the afternoon between 3pm and 4pm.

“We are still busy clearing away the bricks and we are waiting for engineers to check any damages,” says Pillay on Monday afternoon.
