Motorcade 2014: Revving it up in support of men’s health
Iconic brand, Harley-Davidson, revved up for men’s health by launching the Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014 in celebration of its new 2015 range.
Harley-Davidson riders across the East Rand waxed up those moustaches and rode united in support of men’s health and cancer awareness at Harley-Davidson Gold Rand, on Saturday, N(M)ovember 1.
Motorcyclists embraced the Harley spirit and rebelled with a cause to change the face of men’s health and make a difference.
In true Harley form the Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014 was set to be a first with parades taking place on the same day at the same time at all 10 Harley-Davidson dealerships.
Participating dealerships included Tyger Valley, Cape Town, Clearwater, Gold Rand, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, Big Five, Zambezi and Bloemfontein.
Parade riders were also able to view the new 2015 Harley-Davidson models at each dealership after the parade.
The new models include the Road Glide Special, Ultra Limited Low, Street Glide Special, CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide Ultra.
This local motorcade initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health and cancer.
More Balls Than Most is the initiatives’ 2014 partner and donation beneficiary.
Brother of Pink Drive, More Balls Than Most, is dedicated to promoting awareness of the importance of early detection of prostate and testicular cancer.
According to Cansa, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among South African men with a one in 26 lifetime risk to develop it.

The number of prostate cancer cases is also steadily increasing, because of longer lifespan and a more westernised lifestyle.
Testicular cancer on the other hand is one of the most common cancers in young men aged between 15 and 39.
“With Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014 we are encouraging awareness and urging family, friends, colleagues and associates to get tested early,” says Trisch Rosema from More Balls Than Most.

“In the past two decades, most men have survived prostate cancer and a continual diagnosis and early treatment can have an even bigger impact.”
Participants who want to make a donation towards the cause may purchase a limited edition Snors for a Cause buff for R130 on Harley-Davidson Africa’s Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/HarleyDavidsonAfrica.

“We are grateful to have the support of Harley-Davidson Africa who have committed to a minimum donation of R50 000 for the fight against cancer in men,” says Rosema.
“This donation will be used for much needed education. The more awareness we can create and the more funds raised, we can tackle the testicular and prostate cancer issue head on to prevent cancer.”
True to the campaign, Harley-Davidson Africa will continue to raise awareness for men’s health with a competition element.
Grow a legendary moustache during the month of November and stand a chance to win a Harley-Davidson Street 750 which will be launched in the South African market in early 2015
“Changing the face of men’s health is the stuff legends are made of and Harley-Davidson® is all about uniting to make a difference,” comments Harley-Davidson Africa Country Manager, Paul de Jongh. – @IschkeBoksburg
