Godzilla isn’t so scary after all
It is the umpteenth time that a Godzilla film has been made, and somehow these films don’t seem to stack up against the competition films released, even though it grossed over $500-million.

Rating: Like the headline says – not scary, not interesting
The film starts with potential of finally giving us a different take on the film – and the film surely did give us a different take on the franchise. But this time it might have gone a tad too far.
The film retells the origins of Godzilla in contemporary times as a ‘terrifying force of nature’. The film is set in the present day, fifteen years after the unearthing of two chrysalises in a mine in the Philippines.
From the pods come two giant radiation-eating creatures, known as Mutos, which cause great damage in Japan, Hawaii and the western US. Their awakening also stirs a much larger, destructive, ancient alpha predator – Godzilla, whose existence has been kept secret by the US government since 1954.
The rest of the film I will not give away – you’ll have to see it to make up your own mind whether you like it or not.
