According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, the vehicle’s signal was picked up indicating that the vehicle was in Bez Valley.
“The law enforcers closely monitored the vehicle’s movements and when the vehicle stopped for fuel in Ormonde, law enforcers reacted and the driver was arrested.
“At the driver’s residence in Ormonde, computers and printers, suspected of being used to produce fraudulent car licences and vehicle registration documentation, were confiscated,” he says.
Kgasago adds that R45 000 in cash was also found in this residence.
“Another Malawian national found at the residence was also arrested.
“The two suspects were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and the case was opened at the Booysens police station.”
The police are conducting in-depth investigations to analyse the equipment confiscated with a view to establishing the extent of the suspects’ illegal activities. – @CarmenBoksburg
