Bright future for Balmoral students

Members of the Boksburg Lake Rotary Club visited Balmoral College, in Witfield, to empower the children of the school with their studies on Thursday, September 25.

In line with the club’s ongoing campaign themed ‘Light Up Rotary’ the visitors donated 109 solar lights to the Grade 11s and 12s.

The lights will provide the children, in particular from the local informal settlements, with the ability to do their homework and studies in the evenings.

Speaking on behalf of all the beneficiaries, one of the learners, Thobeka Msiza, thanked the generous Rotary Club members for the help.

“These lights may look so small in terms of size, but they will make a huge impact in our lives. If we use them to study and become successful in life, they will not only turn the light on in us, but the whole community and the country as a whole,” said Thobeka.
