This is according to Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“Parts of Ekurhuleni are experiencing water supply interruptions due to erratic water supply from Rand Water, the bulk supplier.”
While other areas such as Benoni, Germiston and Tsakane have begun receiving water, Bedfordview and Primrose remain without water supply (Witfield has not been mentioned).
The water tankers will be available between 7am until 8pm in the evening until the situation is back to normal.
Meanwhile, Kempton Park began experiencing the water supply shortages today affecting several areas. The water tankers will be provided as well.
“As Rand Water and Ekurhuleni engineers are continuously working around the clock to bring the situation back to normal, we wish to emphasise on our call to residents to assist the process by using the little available water sparingly.
“To stabilise the water situation all water users are requested to refrain from all forms of irrigation, washing of vehicles using hose pipes and filling up of swimming pools.
“Residents are also urged to report any pipe bursts, and repair leaks in their properties to avoid water loss.”
