According to the metro, the pool was closed due to a crack through in the pool wall, presumably caused by negative pressure caused by underground water.

“Consultants have been appointed and an investigation will be conducted during the next two weeks,” says metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

Gadebe says the remedial work to the shell will only be planned after the investigation is completed.
