Abalone bust suspects case postponed
The three Chinese men, who were arrested for possession of five tons of abalone, appeared in the Vosloorus Magistrates Court on September 15.
The case was postponed until September 22 for bail application.
On September 14, the men were found in possession of wet and dry abalone in Van Dyk Park, to the value of approximately R3-million.
This is the second major raid in the area after more than 50 000 units of abalone were confiscated in a bust on another drying facility in Rynfield, Benoni, in July.
During that operation, one Chinese national, two Mozambicans and a Malawian citizen were arrested. – @CarmenBoksburg
