Read international news on our website

Caxton Local Newspapers websites now offer readers international news along with their favourite local news; a new development as the company continues to improve and its digital platforms.

In 2013 Caxton launched local community newspaper websites. Caxton’s 70 community sites reach audiences from Port Shepstone to Polokwane. Titles include the Benoni City Times, Kempton Express, Sandton Chronicle, South Coast Herald, Alberton Record, and many more. The launch of international news, provided by Agence France-Presse, aims to keep our readers informed of events around the world.

People with various tastes can enjoy technology news, world events, business updates as well as entertainment and lifestyle news from around the world.

“The addition of international content on our sites improves our offering tremendously. Our audiences can now stay abreast of international news and events. Caxton’s local newspapers have now become your one-stop site for a huge variety of information,” says Chris Louw, Caxton’s national online editor.

“The reality is that although we live in a specific town, our interest stretches further than the boundaries of where we reside,” says Malcolm Maifala, Digital Editorial Support at Caxton East Rand and Joburg South.

“Although we have this offering for our loyal community, the public can be assured that our main focus remains local news. The inclusion of international news is there because we believe people living in a specific town can access international news without visiting another website,” Maifala adds.

In addition, looklocal now hosts news from all news published on the Local News Network’s websites and provide information about local businesses in each area.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
