New club for 50 plus opens on East Rand
The South African Association of Retired Persons (Saarp) is an organisation for people of 50 years and older.

The original branch of the club is based in Cape Town, and a new branch has now been opened at the Lakefield Club, on the East Rand.
The club was formed primarily to serve Benoni, Boksburg and Kempton Park, but all are welcome to join.
The club will hold its social meetings on the first Wednesday of each month and the committee has planned a very interesting and varied programme of social events.
Pam Harvey, who started the club, hopes more people will be inspired to start branch, as there are only four such clubs in Gauteng, compared to over 80 in the Cape.
Forming a group offers people new interests and companionship.
