BREAKING NEWS: Man dies in accident

A man in his 30s was killed and eight others injured on Tuesday morning, July 22 when a taxi collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Dickens and Trichardts roads.

Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, says that when paramedics arrived on scene, they found the intersection blocked by the two wrecked vehicles.

“Paramedics discovered one man lying lifeless inside the taxi,” he says.

Meiring adds that seven other occupants from the taxi as well as the driver from the vehicle all sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.” – @CarmenBoksburg

  1. I would like to correct the story above. I was the first person on the scene at the accident of the taxi and the white vehicle on Tuesday on Trichardt street. The taxi was not in the wrong. The white vehicle hit the taxi on the side which made the taxi roll. The young man was not inside the taxi he was thrown out. The taxi split at the side when it rolled and the man was thrown out.I myself tried to resuscitate the injured young man that was thrown from the taxi which had passed away before the ER 24 were on site. ER24 informed me that there was far to many internal injeries to have saved him. There were three other passengers that were injured which were taken to hospital. The drive off the white vehicle didn’t even come over to help anyone in the taxi. Just because it’s a taxi people think it is there fault. The taxi driver was in the right and was not even going fast as he had pulled off next to me at the traffic lights, about two hundred meters away from were the accident happened. People should get their facts Wright before publishing the info. I am still waiting for the police to contact me for my statement.
