Grand Bizarre held to raise funds for Mercy Haven

The Parkdene Recreation Centre came alive as children and their parents filled the grounds in support of the Mercy Haven Grand Bizarre fundraiser held on Saturday, June 28.

Residents were treated to different activities such as a clown show, jumping castle, beauty pageant and police dog show.

According to Tony Lubbe, Mercy Haven’s chairman of the board, funds raised will go a long way in ensuring the smooth running of the centre.

Mercy Haven is a shelter for abused women and their children.

Women taken in at the centre are provided with basic needs such as nutrition, primary healthcare and clothing, education and developmental assistance and where possible, are reunited with their families.

Lubbe thanks the community for participating and showing their support for this fundraiser initiative.
