Give blood for Mandela Day

With the countdown underway for Mandela Day, the South African national Blood Service calls on all residents of Boksburg and surrounding areas to take a few minutes of their time and donate blood, as part of their Mandela Day activities.

To donate blood this month, in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of service to humanity, people can do their part by visiting their nearest blood centres.

Mandela Day is a call to action for people everywhere to devote just 67 minutes of their time to changing the world for the better, and making a difference in the communities in which they live.

Blood donation is one of the simplest ways to make a difference to the lives of others, and it is something you can continue to do every 56 days, a sustainable action to make a difference to the lives of others.

To give blood, you must be aged between 16 and 65, healthy, weighing at least 50kg, leading a sexually safe lifestyle are invited to give blood during the event.
