R4 000 worth of drugs seized

After receiving information of illegal activity involving a silver Opel Corsa, in Witfield, members of the EMPD monitored the suspected vehicle over three days.

According to Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD, on June 23 the Metro Police took action, which resulted in the arrests of two drug dealers and seizure of drugs valued at an estimated R4 000.

“After familiarising themselves with the points where the suspects meet with clients, as well as knowing the usual faces in the Opel Corsa, the Metro Police witnessed a couple of transactions taking place in Van Schalkwyk Street,” Kgasago says.

The suspect in the Opel Corsa was followed to a flat in Boksburg North, where drugs were found on both him and his flat mate.

A case of possession and dealing in illicit substances was registered at Boksburg North Police Station.
