Business robber arrested

A man was arrested after he and his accomplice robbed a cellphone shop in Main Road, Witfield, at 9am on June 24.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the men entered the shop, pointed a firearm at the owner and tied him up.

“They took all the cellphones, a DVD player and an amplifier before fleeing,” she says.

Const Frans Ledwaba was alone, paying his sector manager visits in the area, when he was alerted to the incident by the owner.

“Ledwaba pursued the men on foot and then caught one of the suspects,” says Coetzer.

All the stolen goods were recovered, but the other robber is still at large.
