According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, it was a single vehicle accident.
“The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Tambo Memorial Hospital, where he died due to his injuries,” she says.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the investigating officer, WO Manie du Preez, on 011 306 0000, using reference Boksburg North Cas 85/05/2014.
n On March 1, there was another fatal vehicle accident, which occurred at 1pm at the intersection of Pretoria and Main Reef roads, in Comet.
“A cyclist was run over by a black truck, which did not stop at the scene. The cyclist died due to his injuries,” says Coetzer.
She adds that any person who witnessed the incident must contact the above-mentioned investigating officer. @CarmenBoksburg
