Boksburg Lake Rotaractors win top awards
The Rotaract Club of Boksburg Lake walked away with various top awards, at the Rotary District Conference 9400, which was held recently.
This included the Mike Forman Rotaract Club of the Year Award for 2013/14.
“We are most grateful to receive this award again, even though it is not a contest; our fellow Rotaract clubs in the district definitely gave us a run for our money,” says Boksburg Lake Rotaract president-elect, Nicola Fox.
The local club also won the international award for hosting visiting German Quinteros, from Rotaract Club Malvín, in Uruguay, and taking part in the Club Rotaract Sfax Doyen project, “We speak Rotaract” (the video can be seen on the club’s Facebook page).
Other awards clinched by the local Rotaractors included:
* Awareness Award
* Club Efficiency and Performance Award
* Rotaractor Jessica Jones was named Treasurer of the Year.
* Rotaractor Bronwyn Camden-Smith was awarded the title of Secretary of the Year.
The club also received an honourable Presidential Citation from Rotary International President Ron Burton, for actively working to engage Rotary and change lives.
