Switched at birth controversy lands in court
Two sets of Gauteng parents are currently at loggerheads after they have discovered their babies were switched at birth, allegedly at the Tambo Memorial Hospital, three years ago.
According to the media reports, the case is being reviewed in the North Gauteng Court as one of the mothers wants her biological child back, while the other wants to keep the child she has been raising.
The court has ordered that the Centre for Child Law to investigate the matter and come up with a solution that will be in the best interests of both the children and the parents.
The discovery came to light after one of the mothers sued her ex-husband for maintenance and he denied paternity.
After a paternity test was performed, it was found that the child was not related to either of the parents.
