Fraudster arrested eight years later

In December 2006, a case of fraud was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS by a transport company in Bartlett.

On May 20, the 43-year-old suspect was arrested.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the company ordered 4 500 litres of diesel, to the value of R26 104.

“The suspect went to collect the cash cheque for the payment, but disappeared without delivering the goods.”

Det W/O Gideon O’Neill investigated the matter and found the suspect in Denysville.

Coetzer says that even if a case is closed, it doesn’t mean there is no movement on the docket.
