Residents pray for transformation of Reiger Park
Hundreds of Reiger Park residents came together on Sunday, May 18, to pray against crime and violence in their township.
It is evident that Reiger Park is one of the city’s townships that struggle with drug-related crimes and acts of violence hotspots, so in response, community leaders organised the prayer service.
Church leaders in the area, representatives from the SAPS, CPF, Youth Desk, Ekurhuleni Emergency Services and members of the community gathered at the Reiger Park Shopping Centre, where they prayed from the depths of their hearts for the transformation of hardened criminals into law abiding citizens.
During the event, different speakers highlighted the need for all residents of the area to be actively involved in campaigns aimed at bringing change in the township.

They also highlighted the need for Christians throughout Reiger Park to drop their denominational alliances, to let go of their prejudice mindsets, and come together as a community to pray and stand against crime.
