
According to Gerhard, her husband, two men driving in a white Chevrolet sedan, forced opened the gate of the family’s home, situated at the corner of Lillian and Barris streets.
One of the would-be robbers entered the yard, and the other remained in the car.
“The robber was on his way to the house when the dogs started to bark, which alerted Bonnie of the danger,” says Gerhard.
According to him, Bonnie was at the time in the bathroom.
The suspect got the fright of his life when Bonnie, who saw the suspect in the yard, pulled a gun on him. The suspect then fled the scene.
Bonnie hit the panic button and called her husband to report the matter.
“I think these men wanted to break-in and ransack our house. Thanks God they didn’t hurt my wife,” says Gerhard.
Gerhard warns resident to be on high alert following the attempted robbery at his house.
No case, however was opened.
“Although our gate was damaged, the police told us that the incident doesn’t constitute a crime, because nothing was taken and nobody was hurt.”
