Eskom break-in alleged inside job

A break-in at the Eskom offices in Marbleton, on Heidelberg Road, at around 10pm on Tuesday, April 8, is allegedly an inside job.

This is according to Dawn Park police spokesperson Capt Charles Tshabalala who says the suspects got away with two Eskom Hilux vehicles, laptops, computers and screens, a grinding machine and cables.

“Two men approached three security guards at the premises in a red Polo and pretended to be police officers.

“When the guards let them in, more men came out from hiding, overpowered the guards, and tied them up before proceeding to rob the place,” says Tshabalala.

Tshabalala says a case of business robbery has been opened and police are investigating.
