Miniature trees on display at Bonsai show
Kierieklapper Bonsai Kai hosted a provincial Bonsai tree exhibition on Saturday, March 30.
The exhibition, which featured more than a hundred miniature trees, was held at Die Gereformeerde Kerk, Boksburg North.
A large number of tree hobbyist from different bonsai clubs in and around Gauteng gathered at the church, to display their pride and joy.
During the event, exhibitors entered their trees in the 13 different categories. Bonsai club members then voted for the best trees.

The Boksburg-based bonsai club (Kierieklapper Bonsai Kai) won in the forest category and the African style category.
Raffle tickets were also sold and winners went home with prizes, including vouchers and goods donated by different companies.
Most experienced bonsai members of the Bonsai Regional Association of Transvaal were also on hand to offer advice.

In efforts to preserve, protect and promote South African species, bonsai members were also encouraged to focus more on African trees.
Bonsai tree exhibitions are held in the province once per season.
