According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the arrest occurred around 10.15pm, while Sector One CPF members were on patrol.
“Hennie Bekker and his crew spotted a truck and Colt bakkie on the corners of Atlas and Elizabeth roads and they stopped at the suspicious bakkie,” says Lieut Coetzer.
She says the bakkie sped off and they gave chase.
“They managed to stop the bakkie with the backup of the Sector One SAPS vehicle, and found four 25 litre diesel containers and a piece of hosepipe.”
A case of theft was opened.
