NYDA offices now open in Ekurhuleni

A partnership between Ekurhuleni and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) led to the launch of ten NYDA offices in the municipality on Friday, February 7.

The offices were launched by Ekurhuleni mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, alongside deputy minister in the presidency, Amos Bapela, and NYDA chairperson Yershen Pillay.

Gungubele says the aim of these new offices is to expand the NYDA footprint in an attempt to bring their services and products closer to the young people of Ekurhuleni.

“This initiative has been long overdue, and it takes place after the metro has launched another massive business development, which is the Ekurhuleni Business Facilitation Centre in Kempton Park,” says Gungubele.

The new facilities are said to allow young people of Ekurhuleni access to all NYDA services, including application for funding to further their studies through the NYDA Solomon Mahlangu Scholarship Fund, access to information on the Grant Programme, business consultancy services, and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, Job Preparedness Programme as well as career guidance information.

The 10 offices will be situated in Katlehong 1, Katlehong 2, Vosloorus, Tembisa, Germiston, Kempton Park, Wattville, Kwa-Thema, Duduza, and Daveyton.
