New speed cameras erected
Various areas along the highways have recently been approved for speed camera prosecutions.
Speed prosecutions will take place in both directions at the following areas:
* On the N12 at the Atlas Road, Kraft Road on- and off-ramps, and the Gilloolys Interchange.
* On the N17 at Wemmerpan and Gosforth Plaza.
* On the R21 at Petroport and the Benoni and N12 on- and off-ramps.
* R24 at the R21 split and Barbara Road on- and off-ramps.
Speed prosecution is valid from December 6, 2013, to November 30, 2014, and may continue should the 2014/2015 application be approved.
Motorists are advised by the EMPD to obey the speed limit as those travelling above 130km/h will be prosecuted.
