Property owner fined for illegal dumping

This follows a complaint received by the Advertiser concerning illegal dumping that has been taking place around the corner of Brentwood Park Road and Finch Street.

The municipality says dumping is still a major problem.

Metro acting spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, says an inspection has been conducted on the property, and a notice and final notice was issued to the owner, who will now be given a fine.

“Although the grass adjacent to the road has been cut, illegal dumping is still a problem. A fine of R1 000 will be issued to the owner and a tender will be requested to clean the property,” says Gadebe.
