Calling all artists to enter the Ekurhuleni Group Art Exhibition

Entry is now open for artists to submit their works for the third edition of the ‘30/30 Group Art Exhibition’ to be held in March 2014.

The exhibition, hosted by Ekurhuleni’s Springs Art Gallery, is a group art exhibition that highlights the works of 30 professional artists and newcomers.

30/30 aims to raise public awareness of visual arts Ekurhuleni by providing opportunities for art lovers to meet artists, and view their work at a location within the city. The exhibition further seeks to promote, support and connect the artists directly with potential buyers.

* All artists born and living in Ekurhuleni who are above 18 years old can submit their portfolio of work for selection.

* All artworks must have been created by the submitting artists, who must have legal ownership and must be the sole owners of the copyright.

* All media and techniques of visual art can be submitted for review, such as painting, photography, sculpture, installations and digital art, etc.

* All artists are encouraged to submit works that are a reflection of their communities through their own expression.

Artists who are interested in participating in the project must send four to five high resolution (300 dpi) images of their work in Jpeg format and a maximum 250 word statement/synopsis outlining the central idea of the concept by email to thabo.sekoaila@ekurhuleni.gov.za or nomcebo.sithole@ekurhuleni.gov.za.

A single work with all its components may not exceed 150cm x 150cm in any direction.

All images must include details of the works, such as title, size, medium and the year it was produced.

Entry is free and the deadline for submission is Friday January 10, 2014.

Submissions will be adjudicated by an art selection panel composed of prominent curators, artists, arts administrators and Springs Art Gallery representatives.

The exhibition will be held from March 15, 2014 until May 2014.
