Local roads are riddled with potholes

Several roads in Boksburg are riddled with potholes and more motorists are forced to take evasive action to avoid these giant potholes on Boksburg’s roads.

The Advertiser spotted dozens of potholes along Rietfontein and Rigg roads, Jansen Park. Others were seen at the intersection of Jet Park and Yaldwyn roads, Jet Park. More and more potholes are being discovered on other roads in the city.

The Advertiser noticed several drivers making emergency stops to avoid one of the massive potholes along Rietfontein road, while dozens of other drivers were seen swerving – in some cases onto the other side of the road – to avoid damaging their vehicles.

Some of the potholes are filled with water so drivers can not tell how deep they are, which is creating serious problems and delays for motorists around the city.

“People have been complaining for a long time about the giant pothole at the intersection of Jet Park and Yaldwyn roads in Jet Park, but the municipality is doing nothing,” says a concerned citizen.

Another driver, Johanna Kock, who drives along Rigg Road, and on her way back home from work, accidentally drove into one of the potholes along Rigg Road.

“Due to the pothole, I had to replace my tire and the wheel bearing,” explains Kock.
