Attorneys host Christmas party

Employees from Malherbe Rigg and Ranwell (MRR) visited Mercy Haven where they handed out gifts on December 7.

Mercy Haven is a place of safety for mothers and children and is run under the auspices of the St Anthony’s diocese of the Catholic Church.

Father Christmas (Sizwe Sibyia, a Candidate Attorney at MRR) arrived unexpectedly on the back of a Harley Davidson, much to the delight of the mothers and children alike.

They were all ushered into the backyard and played games with Father Christmas and his helper.

In the meantime, Father Christmas’s elves (Team MRR), took occupation of the lounge and transformed same into a Christmas cove with decorations and presents.

At the appropriate time, after Father Christmas had ensured that they had all been well-behaved throughout the year, the children and mothers were exposed to the newly decorated lounge and individualised present were doled out to mother and child alike.

A feast of hot dogs and cold drinks then ensued.

“We felt blessed by the warmth and love in the home and appreciate all that is being done to so many by such a dedicated few,” says Jeff Matthee, from MRR.
