
According to Vusi Mabanga, spokesperson for the EMPD, 20 fines were issued for registration and licensing contraventions.
He adds that 75 fines were issued for moving violations and a further 61 fines for parking and stopping offences.
“Some 20 fines were issued to special motorists, for driving without their Professional Drivers Permits (PRDP),” he adds.
A further 67 motorists were fined for driving while talking on their cellphones without a hands-free kit.
There were 13 accidents in the area, one of which was fatal, while only damages occurred in the remainder.
