Sanral to repair road – traffic delay

The South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) is advising that repairs on National Road R21 Section 1, on the southbound highway between the Pomona and Olifantsfontein interchanges, have commenced.

The works include milling out defective and uneven areas, replacing it with layers of Asphalt, ranging from Bitumen Treated Base (BTB), A-E2 wearing course and UTFC wearing course.

During these works, traffic will be accommodated through temporary deviations.

Motorists are advised to observe the advance warning signs, be aware of driving conditions through deviations, and are requested to exercise caution and patience when travelling through the construction work zone.

Speed restrictions will be enforced.

Sanral apologises for the inconvenience caused during the construction period.

The works are due for completion on December 5.
