Siphamandla Madikane’s body was discovered by a passer-by, on Monday afternoon, a day after he was reported missing.
It has not been revealed how Siphamandla died, but his body was found partially burnt and had multiple slash wounds to his neck.
Reiger Park police say a criminal investigation is being conducted into the death of the boy.
Police will continue the investigation by further examination of the case and new forensic evidence.
His family had called police November 3, to report Siphamandla’s disappearance.
According to residents, the boy was playing with other children, when an unknown man apparently kidnapped him.
The matter came to light when his family realised that the boy went missing, just after sunset.
Community members then launched a massive search for the missing child on Monday morning.
More than a thousand of community members, mostly women, took part in the search to locate him.
They searched for the child in Slovo Hostel, nearby bushes and other secluded areas, but did not find him.
They did not give up hope, and continued to search for the boy until they received the shocking news in the afternoon that a member of the community who was walking along the area has discovered the child’s body.
So sad that this has happened all the more reason for the death penalty to return. Maybe a new government as well!
As a member of the public I would like to know what people get when doing this. How will a rapist/killer or any one hurting someone else, feel if this happened to someone they love (gran parents, mother, father, brother, sister, wife, child or any person dear to them)?Children being raped, killed( babies, toddlers, small children) children are also human beings. (The babies that we’re dumper in the toilet) those babies could’nt even talk, they don’t know their names, they can’t identify faces.( Why kill them??????? This child of 10 years playing with his friends, why kidnap him and kill him???? What has this child done to you?? “KILLER What if this was your child?? The only person of your family left as the other family members past away due to health/age/accident??? How would you have felt as a mother/father?” To the other killer/rapest killing young adults, elderly people (why?? What have they done to you?? You kill them because you want some of their personal belongings!!! STOP THIS KILLING/RAPING,, It Will NOT cure any disease to rape someone!! BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY!!!!!!
