According to the police report, the suspect stabbed the woman with a knife, on Sunday, September 15.
The deceased, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was charged with murder and made his first court appearance on Tuesday, September 17.
He was remanded in custody and will appear again next week for a formal bail application.
* In another incident, the police arrested a 36-year-old Reiger Park man for the death of a 23-year-old man.
The suspect allegedly assaulted the 23-year-old man with a bottle a few hours before his death, on Sunday night.
The suspect was charged with murder and was due to appear in court this week.
Three murders have been reported in the area within a month.
A few weeks ago, the SAPS arrested a 28-year-old Reiger Park woman and charged her with murder, after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death during a drunken argument.
