Famsa and VEC celebrate heritage
Families South Africa Eastrand (Famsa) in partnership with the Victims Empowerment Centre (VEC), in Dawn Park, will host a celebration of Heritage Day on Thursday, September 26.
The event will take place at the Barry Marais Street Park, in Dawn Park, from 10am.
According to Mamorena Liutloileng of Famsa, various organisations which have been invited to address guests, include the Dawn Park CPF and Youth Desk, Sanca, Famsa Eastrand as well as the department of Social Development.
“You cannot know where you are going, if you don’t know where you come from, the event will remind people, especially young people of their heritage,” says Liutloileng.
Both young and old are invited to attend the event in honour of Heritage Day.
