Numsa to meet with bosses
The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) and automobile bosses will be meeting today, August 22, to discuss the ongoing strike.

Castro Ngobese, Numsa national spokesperson, says that they will be in negotiations to find a possible and lasting settlement.
“The ongoing strike action is a result of the stubbornness of the employers to concede to our demands,” he says.
Ngobese adds that this process will be a clear demonstration of their continued adherence to their longstanding principle of worker control and worker’s power.
“In no way will these latest developments suspend the strike action.
“The strike action is still continuing until the automobile ruling oligarchy concedes to workers’ demands and our members will continue holding pickets or demonstrations outside their respective plants.”
He adds that the planned marches for next week in Gauteng and East Cape will continue.
Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD, says that they will monitor the situation.
