Ekurhuleni gets R100-m Vosloorus Shopping Plaza
Residents of Vosloorus and surrounding areas will soon have a new place to shop till they drop.
Construction of a shopping plaza, measuring 10 329sq/m will commence this year and is scheduled for completion in July, 2014.
It will be located at the corner of Brickfield and Bierman Avenue, opposite the busy Chris Hani Crossing, Vosloorus.
The new Vosloorus Plaza is poised to delight shoppers with its selection of South Africa’s popular retailers, including Spar, Build Rite building supplies, Fair Price, PEP Stores, Cash Crusaders, several fast food outlets, fashion and furniture shops and others.
SuperSpar will be the anchor tenant trading from a 2 875sq/m store.
The plaza will include 389 parking bays.
Vosloorus Plaza is developed by iKwezi Development Trust at a total investment of approximately R100-m.
The architects, Venter Human and Strydom, describe the design of the single storey centre as simple with a lean-to roof walkway to the front of the parking area, and easy access to and from walkways and parking bays.
There will be key feature elements to the main anchor shop entrances, which will provide signage opportunities and visibility to the centre from the main roads.
According to Kieron van Rooyen, retail broker for JHI Properties, with high trading densities in the surrounding areas, coupled with the convenience and value offering, there is a huge demand for a centre such as this.
