
* Banele Mkhatshwa (20), from Vosloorus , and Sizwe Dlamini (18), from Vosloorus appeared in court on charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
They pleaded guilty, and were found guilty on June 19, and sentenced on August 19.
Mkhatshwa was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder and seven years imprisonment for the robbery charge.
Dlamini was sentenced to eight years for murder and five years for robbery.
On October 20, 2011, the men took, with force, cash, cold drinks, cigarettes, air-time and biscuits from Horsain Abotahar before they killed him by stabbing him with a knife and a pick handle.

* Nathan van Wyk (34), from Reiger Park, appeared in court on a charge of house break-in with the intent to steal.
He pleaded not-guilty on October 29, 2012, was found guilty and sentenced on August 19, to five years of which two years were suspended for five years.
On June 17, 2012, the accused broke open a spaza shop, in Reiger Park, belonging to Nicholas Pallywan and stole R11 637 and groceries to the value of R3 500.
He had previous convictions of theft from October 1997, August 2011 and January 2012, as well as convictions of malicious damage to property from September 1999, and house break-in from June 2000 and July 2006.

* Zama Nkhosi (26), from Rondebult, appeared in court on charges of theft of a motor vehicle.
The accused pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 19, to five years imprisonment of which two years were suspended.
On June 19, the accused stole a Mazda Midge belonging to Sydney James Baragwanath.

* Billy Jacobs (27), from Tembisa, appeared in court on a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 19, to 25 years to run concurrently with his previous convictions, and on condition that he serves at least two thirds of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
On July 25, 2007, the accused threatened Mariette Smith before stealing her Mercedes Benz and wallet with its contents.
He had previous convictions of house break-in from June 2000, and robbery with aggravating circumstances from July 2009 and June 2010.
He was previously sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

* Bheka Zulu (35), from Mapleton, appeared in court on charges of malicious damage to property and assault.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 20, to R1 500 or nine months imprisonment, which was suspended for five years on condition that he pays R400 to the complainant for the malicious damage to property charge. He received a R500 or three months imprisonment sentence for the assault charge.
On July 14, the accused damaged a table belonging to Makape Mamatlepa and assaulted Robert Mamatlepa by hitting him with his fists.

* Moses Hadebe (44), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of theft.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 20, to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for five years.
On July 11, the accused stole bread, biscuits and butter to the value of R33 from Pick n Pay and on August 8, stole a chocolate to the value of R5.99.

* Mabongoza Zodwa appeared in court on a charge of theft.
The accused pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on August 20, to R2 000 or 12 months imprisonment of which R1 500 or nine months was suspended for five years.
In August the accused stole items from Clicks to the value of R371.97.

* Sandile Damoyi (29), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of attempted theft.
He pleaded guilty, and was found guilty, on July 18, and sentenced on August 19, to 18 months imprisonment of which 12 months was suspended for five years.
On July 7, the accused attempted to steal copper cables belonging to Telkom.
He had previous convictions of malicious damage to property from September 2007, possession of drugs from February 2012 and assault from December 2012.
