The biggest complain that has come from many residents in this regard, is the ineffectiveness of the call centre, saying that even when the call centre is alerted, it can take days for a response.
Residents of Scribante Old Age Home in Cason Road, including Norris Clement, were forced to live with a pool of mud in their parking lot due to a water pipe burst, which was not attended to for two weeks.
Caretaker Alinah Bopape says she reported the pipe burst to the municipality, and there was not much else she could do until they came.
“Sometimes residents can get a little impatient, but unfortunately I cannot do more than report the issue, which I did,” says Bopape.
She confirmed that the pipe had been fixed only two weeks after it had been reported.
No comment had been received from municipality before going to print.
