Metro works to restore power in parts of Boksburg
Subsequent to the Advertiser being alerted to the issue of certain parts of Boksburg being without electricity for more than two days, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) says that it would work to reinstate electricity supply in the area.

Residents of Reiger Park and Ramaphosa say they have been without electricity since Saturday, July 27.
According to Modiba, a truck drove into a medium-voltage overhead cable in Reiger Park, and caused a short circuit on the cables.
“This caused a faulty current – an electrical reaction that goes through the network – resulting in multiple cable faults.
“The metro’s technicians have been working diligently to resolve the matter, however, due to the nature of the incident it is taking longer to reinstate supply,” says Modiba.
“Technicians will work continuously to until power has been reinstated in all the affected areas.”
Modiba also apologises on behalf of the metro for the inconvenience caused by the power outage and reminds residents to treat the network as “electrically live” at all times.
