DVD review: Bring on the giants
We all know the tall tale of Jack and the Beanstalk our parents used to read to us when we were young children.

Jack was a small boy whose widowed mother sent him off to sell their cow for money, but ,instead, he returned with magic beans.
Jack was scolded by his mother for being a fool and his beans were tossed out of the window.
Overnight, the beans grew, up into the sky and out of sight, creating the greatest beanstalk Jack had ever seen… and so goes the tail of Jack and his adventures with the beanstalk.
In the film Jack the Giant Slayer, there is much of the same, with a lot of the new.
Firstly, Jack is a big, handsome young man (Nicholas Hoult), he gets his beans differently, and the story turns out very differently to the original folktale, becoming an action-packed, fast-paced, thrilling adventure.
The graphics are brilliant and the acting lives up to the actors’ repertoires, delivering a fun film for everyone.
Rating: 5/5.
