Students save lives

To replenish blood supplies, The South African Blood Services (SABS) and three local schools have initiated blood collection drives between Wednesday and Friday this week.

The first blood drive was held at St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls on Wednesday, July 24, with the second being held at Boksburg High, today.

The third one will be held at Windmill Park Secondary School tomorrow.

SANBS on Wednesday and Thursday held the first and second of its three-day blood drives that saw dozens of student voluntarily donating blood, from 9am to 2pm.

While the initiative was started by the SANBS a couple of years ago, the work has continued by the schools, and has now become a family tradition at some of the schools.

SANBS salutes and thanks the students, teachers and other stakeholders for organising regular blood drives at their schools.
