Firearm licence office reopens at Boksburg North SAPS
If an applicant does not have a mask on they will be requested to obtain a mask before they are assisted
The Boksburg North SAPS firearm licence office reopened its doors on May 18, since closing due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
Residents need to note the following:
- All documents and application forms must be completed before and all copies certified before handing in.
- All applicants must wear a mask at all times. If an applicant does not have a mask, he or she will be requested to obtain a mask before they are assisted.
- Applicants will be scanned for temperature, if temperature is over 38 you will be requested to go home or seek medical assistance.
- If applicant has been in contact with an infected person in the last two weeks or has flu-like symptoms, stay home.
- All applicants must bring their own pens and file binders.
- Applicants and papers will be sanitised at the office before Designated Firearm Office (DFO) handles any paperwork.
- All application forms will be filed at the station for five days before processing to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
- The DFO will sanitise the working station and equipment after every applicant, so be patient.?
- Bring along the correct fee to the cash office to avoid exchanging money or change.
- Competency costs R70, renewal costs R70 and new licence costs R14
