Police looking for person of interest in Boksburg ‘date-rape’

After meeting at an undisclosed address on February 7, the pair reportedly later on the same day went to a local guesthouse where they secured a room

Boksburg detectives investigating the case of a woman who said she was raped by her male date in a room at a guesthouse in Boksburg have identified the ‘person of interest’ in the matter.

According to the police, the man who emerged as a figure of interest in the investigation was last seen driving a grey BMW with a foreign number plate.

Giving her version of events, the woman reportedly told the police that she and her date first met on social media before going on a date on February 7.

After meeting at an undisclosed address on February 7, the pair reportedly later on the same day went to a local guesthouse where they secured a room, before the rape happened.

Anyone with information on his identity and whereabouts is asked to call the investigating officer, Sgt Molise on 083 741 3354 or 011 841 6843.

Police also urge the man to turn himself in, as they want to speak to him regarding the case.
